Jeh Johnson Drops Security Ball..

En Garde In The Bunker

En Garde In The Bunker

Forgive the comparison, folks, between the present structure of the American government (particularly Jeh Johnson at DHS) and George Orwell’s classic 1984, his dystopian study in government by hegemony Of particular interest is the Ministry of Truth, which is hardly anything but the ministry of propaganda. If you’re interested in a fuller definition you can go here.

As HotAir put it the other day, this present administration is simply the modern-day version of the Ministry of Truth, morphed into the Department of Homeland Security (which, under Jeh Johnson it turns out, has nothing “secure” about it!):

“Remember when the 9/11 Commission and Congress insisted on conglomerating several bureaucracies into the Department of Homeland Security for efficiency? Keep that in mind when reading about the latest lowlight in government competence from DHS, courtesy of the Associated Press. Not only did the massive Cabinet department fail to coordinate properly on tracking over 800 illegal immigrants, many of whom had outstanding deportation warrants, they gave them American citizenship”.

And guess where many originated? The U.S. government has mistakenly granted citizenship to at least 858 immigrants from countries of concern to national security or with high rates of immigration fraud who had pending deportation orders, according to an internal Homeland Security audit released Monday.

And just how did they miss them? Er …The Homeland Security Department’s inspector general found that the immigrants used different names or birthdates to apply for citizenship with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and such discrepancies weren’t caught because their fingerprints were missing from government databases.

As with anything to do with this administration, everything they touch turns into a natural disaster and outrageous incompetence. And that goes for the inept Jeh Johnson, secretary of Homeland Insecurity (as described by Frank Gaffney in Breitbart, link below). So why doesn’t DHS round up the 858, revoke their citenzenship, cancel the welfare they signed up for immediately after erroneously being given citizenship, and dispatch the cabal to their country of origin?

Well the fact of the matter is that DHS won’t round them up, they won’t have their citizenship revoked, and they won’t be deported (at least not during the current Obama regime). DHS answers to Obama and it is headed up by the aforementioned Jeh Johnson who comes from a muddied past.

    • Johnson’s Mom worked for Planned Parenthood. Of course her views on human life and protecting babies in the womb rubbed off on him (not). “How is this at all relevant?”, scream some readers. It’s relevant because the attitudes and beliefs of a parent help to shape a child, and beliefs of a parent that would work for Planned Parenthood would be incorporated into the young Jeh Johnson, and would help shape his views on the right to life itself, for babies or anyone.
    • Following the Orlando nightclub shooting, (by a Muslim employee of a firm with DHS security contracts who bought his firearms legally, and who passed the required background checks) Johnson said on ‘CBS This Morning’ that “We have to face the fact that meaningful gun control has to be a part of homeland security. We need to do something to minimize the opportunity for terrorists to get a gun in this country.”
    • ‘Meaningful gun control’ is liberal gun-grabber-speak for ‘control’, and if they have to make our firearms illegal, and make us the felons, fine, no problem. Watch for an upcoming Supreme Court case should the seriously-ill Hillary be elected.
    • Johnson, at a meeting last January of the Homeland Security Advisory Council, agreed with one council member’s statement that “the threat from right-wing extremists domestically is just as real as the threat from Islamic extremism”.

Over and over again, the Obama administration has insisted that the borders are secure and that they take immigration control seriously. Instead, we keep discovering that they have no interest in pursuing illegal immigration, even when it involves fraud, and that they’re not even interested in fixing the systems that could prevent fraud. At the same time, they accuse those who don’t trust the federal government on immigration of being bigots and conspiracy theorists. Small wonder that populism has emerged as a strong political force in 2016. Jeh Johnson and his incompetency is just another sad legacy from Barack Obama.
