I was recently making the case to some relatives and friends, that Donald Trump reminded me of 1) H.Ross Perot (another “hand grenade with a bad haircut”) who was solely responsible for saddling us with eight years (and still counting) of the Clintons; 2) Benito Mussolini with his macho body language and jutting jaw; and 3) Adolph Hitler with his adoring but uncritical supporters. Both shaped by, and responding to, the Weimar-like decadence of a crumbling American culture, Donald Trump no doubt aspires to the demagogic heights reached by certain European nationalists of the last century. In truth, however, he’s much closer (both rhetorically and substantively) to the character of Sir Roderick Spode who appeared in the 1990s TV adaptation of P. G. Wodehouse’s “Jeeves and Wooster” series.
Check out the episodes to see what I’m getting at, “Jeeves Saves the Cow-Creamer” and “A Plan for Gussie” to enjoy some good laughs at Spode’s Trumpian antics. Of course, you’ll also need to have a box of Kleenex handy for the moment when you remember that we’re about to elect a Spode-like figure to the White House, and your laughter turns to tears. Or not. Although Spode was fictional, his group of “Black Shorts” was loosely based on Hiltler’s Brownshirts, Mussolini’s Blackshirts, the British Blackshirts, the Irish Blueshirts and Greenshirts, the South African Greyshirts, Mexico’s Gold Shirts, and the American Silver Shirts.
The lamestream media continues to hide the actual treason being perpetrated by Obama and his pals while Congress has stood by in silent support. The liberal judiciary has been eliminating actual justice and inserting liberal agenda in its place. Islam and Sharia-pure-hatred is quietly being infiltrated throughout the republic. The United States of America is insecure, bankrupt, and with little remaining of its Judeo-Christian fabric. God is no longer evident and the United States is causing its own destruction; by any measure, we are in a state of undeclared failure, with lots of people to justifiably blame.
As Victor Davis Hanson describes in his piece linked at the bottom: “The president of the United States invited a rapper for a White House visit. The rapper’s latest album cover shows a dead white judge lying at the feet of celebratory African-American men, with fists of money and champagne held in triumph—in front of the White House.” Shortly thereafter a supreme court justice and ideological opponent of the president turns up dead with a pillow over his face at a remote ranch run by a political supporter of the president. Go figure. What are the odds?
As for the times, they are indeed deranged. It isn’t “popularism” that Trump soars on. It is that the “normal” politicians are also deranged and the public grasps at Trump in the absence of any other non-deranged politician (what politician, before Trump for example, would even talk about immigration and border security?). Trump is a “Hail Mary” play to his supporters, not necessarily the Saviour. He is their last, best hope. Trump may not have the education and erudition of the likes of DC elites, but anyone who thinks he is a “clown” or a “buffoon” is an idiot. He may be smarter than a lot of the erudite elitists put together; not that I’m acting shill for him by any means, but he’s obviously touched a nerve or two within the general populace.
Socialism is the message, Marxism is the strategy and Fascism is the goal. Democrats lost America’s first Civil War because they enslaved Black people. Democrats are going to lose America’s second Civil War because they attempted to enslave everyone else. Not every Democrat was a KuKluxKlan member, but every KuKluxKlan member was a Democrat. Western culture has certainly degenerated to Weimar levels. But some (in the media, unsurprisingly, and repeated on social networks) will claim that Weimar Germany was culturally advanced until Hitler ruined everything.
Which leads me into a superb essay from the aforementioned Victor Davis Hanson. All of it true. Americans know and feel it, but are powerless to do anything to stop it. Voting has proven to be worthless, as the GOP always shows us. The GOP has to be dragged across the finish line, kicking and screaming, and when we’ve given them the power, their very first act is to look at us and say: “We are powerless. We must bow down to Obama. We cannot oppose him because we might lose a poll point, or two. But thanks for your support.”
We The People can only prepare for what must come from all that is written in Mr. Hanson’s editorial by doing what they’ve been doing since Obama’s elections; they are arming up in droves. They’re buying guns and supplies because they know where this all ends. This time when they come with the trains to the camps for people (and it will be for Christians, not Jews), let us hope that people don’t go quietly like they did in 1930’s Germany.
