Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the Chucky-Cheesy-Schumer-Show, the star of which went on a DemoMarxist rant yesterday in summing up the shellacking they took from the November 4th elections, slamming his boss and others in the process. Excerpt:
Sen. Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) said Tuesday that Democrats were wrong to pass Obamacare. “Democrats lost the opportunity the American people gave them. We took their mandate and put all of our focus on the wrong problem–health care reform,” Schumer said.
Schumer conceded that health care was an important issue, but it was not the primary issue. “The plight of uninsured Americans and the hardships caused by unfair insurance company practices certainly needed to be addressed, but it was not the change we were hired to make,” Schumer said. “Americans were crying out for the end to the recession, for better wages and more jobs, not changes in health care.”
If Democrats had done the math, they would have realized that health care reform affected just a small portion of the electorate: 5 percent. “To aim a huge change in mandate at such a small percentage of the electorate made no political sense,” Schumer said. “So when Democrats focused on health care, the average middle-class person thought, ‘The Democrats are not paying enough attention to me,’” Schumer said.
Sen. Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) seems to believe that jobs created by Keystone XL pipeline are less important to the economy than other jobs because they will be located in “a limited and red part of the country.” “Give me a break!” Schumer said.
Schumer’s speech on Tuesday included other head-scratchers besides downplaying people finding work in red states. Schumer also said despite the midterm results that deep down, the “public knows in its gut” that bigger government is the “only way” for the middle class to prosper. Revealing a strategy for Democrats in 2016, Schumer said “they must embrace” big government to win.
Then he jumps in and harps on about “Big Government” and how We The People secretly desire it. Good grief:
Despite devastating midterm results for Democrats and a rise in public distrust of government, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D, NY.) said believes that deep down the public knows big government is best for them. “When government failed to deliver on a string of noneconomic issues, the rollout of the Obamacare exchanges, the mishandling of the surge in border crossers, ineptitude at the V.A., initial handling of the Ebola threat, people lost faith in government’s ability to work, then blamed the incumbent governing party, Democrats, creating a Republican wave,” Schumer said.
Schumer said he does not want the numbers from this election to fool you – Americans believe in big government through and through, he said. “Ultimately, the public knows in its gut that a strong and active government is the only way to reverse the middle-class decline and help revive the American dream,” Schumer said.
Following which he continues on his “big government” theme ad nauseum:
Sen. Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) devised what he believes to be a genius strategy for Democrats in 2016: Embrace big government. “In order to win in 2016, Democrats must embrace government, not run away from it,” Schumer said. All Democrats have to do is convince the electorate that big government can work despite the many recent embarrassments of the Democrat-controlled government. Democrats will succeed in 2016 “if, and only if, we can convince people that government can work and help restore the middle class to prosperity,” Schumer said.
HAH!! “Embrace government” (said no free person ever) .. The Chucky-Cheesy-Schumer-Show and his ilk are completely out of touch with reality, which comes as a result of having been in Washington much too long, for far too many years, while living in a bubble of unreality, and suffocating under the political weight of too many bureaucracies. Consider for instance, that over 3,000 new regulations are slated for action this fall, to come into being for next year – THREE thousand!
So in closing, when all is said and done, it would appear that the Senior Senator from New York is definitely distancing himself not only from the rogue fraud “president” and his position and political sycophantic hacks surrounding him, but throw in Hillary “Rob ’em” Clinton and her own presidential aspirations as well. Reminds me of when the Titanic was doomed to destruction and all that most of the crew and passengers could do, was to await their fate with due fear and helplessness.
In the Chucky-Cheesy-Schumer-Show however, we prefer to go out with a bang and not a whimper, with a spring in our steps, and a song in our hearts … Dusty Springfield taking us out with “Wishin’ and Hopin’ ” … And God Bless Chucky’s trying heart (I do hope that his life insurance policy is up to date) ….
