Saving Our Republic: Devin Nunes

En Garde in the bunker…

As Thomas Lifson put it the other day in American Thinker: “Ordinarily, when a politician suddenly announces he is resigning his office, my first thought is that he is dodging a scandal. But in the case of Devin Nunes’s surprise declaration yesterday that he will be heading up President Trump’s new Trump Media & Technology Group, the billion-dollar startup that will be challenging social media censorship and building a free speech alternative online, I don’t think so.

“For one thing, Nunes has been one of the prime targets of the Democrats for years. His unwavering support for President Trump and his effective investigations when the GOP held the majority, and he enjoyed a chairmanship, subjected him to intense scrutiny by the netherworld of the donkeys’ oppo research apparatus”.

As the New York Times put it, he “faced almost impossible odds in being re-elected to the Central Valley district that his family has farmed for three generations. A new map emerging from an independent citizens’ redistricting commission was almost certain to flip it from a district Mr. Trump won handily to one President Biden would have won”. [end]

Saving Our Republic: Devine Nunes

At this particular point in time, an alternative to the Big Tech monopoly is absolutely needed. As McConnell and Pelosi-Schumer prove over and over again multiples of times, they continue to choke off any conservative views by denying the free speech of millions of us while a “do-nothing” Congress refuses to address the problem, having simply been bought and paid for!

For sure it would appear that we’re moving toward a fully divided nation where the question might be if President Trump’s Media and Technology Group allow Leftists to participate, or whether it simply becomes the Big Tech of the Right with its own bubble. Time will tell of course if it adds to the division or helps to unify what right now is a severely divided government and party-system. One suspects that in the short term – if allowed to even get off the ground – it will be violently attacked and swarmed, making for an intolerable atmosphere.

On the other hand of course, remember that Nunes was the driving force in getting the info on just how Corrupt the Deep State was in their Attempted Coup of Trump. The FBI-DOJ, and every other alphabet-soup agency one can think of, never mind the antics of one “shifty-Schiff, Comey, Clapper, Brennan etal” as corrupted as all get-out, and all even more so now, having made the Stasi and NKVD look like pikers in the lawlessness business. BAR NONE!

Thaddeus G. McCotter, American Greatness: ‘Devin Nunes isn’t Done Saving our Republic’ …

It became clear to the California Republican that his choice was to either try and tackle Big Tech through the legislative process or to do it through direct competition in the marketplace.

In a stunning move that has stupefied and unsettled the swamp and its Big Tech and corporate media cohorts, U.S. Representative Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) is retiring from Congress to become chief executive officer of Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG). Nunes will commence his new role effective January 1.

Despite his personally momentous decision, as the current ranking member (and former chairman) of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Nunes knows he will be doing anything but retiring. While his duties have changed, his core mission remains: protecting and promoting Americans’ liberty in our free republic.

A recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his work in exposing the corruption and weaponization of the federal government to pimp the Russiagate lie, Nunes stated this in no uncertain terms: “The time has come to reopen the Internet and allow for the free flow of ideas and expression without censorship. The United States of America made the dream of the Internet a reality and it will be an American company that restores the dream.”

For his part, former President Trump, who praised Nunes as “a fighter and a leader,” reaffirmed the new company’s mission: “Devin understands that we must stop the liberal media and Big Tech from destroying the freedoms that make America great. America is ready for TRUTH Social and the end to censorship and political discrimination.” [-]

[+] … Nunes’ decision makes eminent sense. For as the communications revolution continues apace, it is increasingly evident to all how the power that once projected from Congress now projects onto Congress; and how, like a laser through butter, it cuts that institution to accord with its will. Big Tech and the corporate media know and leverage this power better than anyone. Compounding the dilemma, even with a Republican majority in 2023, legislative remedies to rein in Big Tech will not soon be forthcoming, due to a Democratic president’s veto pen.  And time is of the essence.

Absent a viable alternative to the leftist social media stranglehold and other organs of communication, our once free republic will continue to see citizens subjected to an emerging social credit system bent upon turning them into serfs in the service of an elitist, kleptocratic oligarchy—and that is the best-case scenario.

So, good luck and godspeed, Devin Nunes, as you guide TMTG to success and continue your work to save our free republic. [end]

Saving Our Republic. Devin Nunes

There’s an existential rule of politics, given not by Plato nor by Machiavelli, but from within the window throne of Yours Truly: Good people go into politics. Only thieves, grifters, shysters and sell outs stay there. Devin Nunes was no exception to that rule and he has proven it. And now he is moving on to greater things.

Because Big Tech has the power to buy a congressional majority to rule in its favor, we likely won’t see much come out of a Congressional Committee that threatens it. When somebody can please explain to me how lying, cheating, advocating lawlessness, supporting criminal activity, and a plethora of other nonsensical political maneuvers can morph into an exercise of free speech, then I’ll be all ears.

Until then, the solution to downsizing “Big Tech” along with the establishment media looks more like a law enforcement problem to me than anything else. Every last jackal involved in those kind of anti-American enterprises needs to be sent to prison. Forthwith. Saving our Republic: Devin Nunes. Say. No. More!

And on that note, time for today’s MAGA Pill – President Donald John Trump – MAGA! KAG!
