Media Putsch over Dr. Ben Carson

Go Ahead, Make ...

Go Ahead, Make …

In the piece coming up from Carol Brown in today’s American Thinker, Dr. Ben Carson apparently didn’t get the RNC memo that if you get challenged by the MSM you’re supposed to cave-in and beg for forgiveness. Seems to be a biennial occurrence that Black conservative office seekers are anathema to liberals, that they must be destroyed before they get a foothold. Don’t forget that it was Liberals who got Herman Cain for womanizing, but that won’t work with Dr. Carson so they are playing the Islamophobia card. Unfortunately for Liberals We The People of America are on board with Dr. Carson’s position, and their slash-and-burn tactics won’t work in this instance.

Jake Tapper is a fraud and phony journalist just like the rest of these hard-core leftists that infest the national media today. We The People are so on to these idiots but they just don’t get it. And trust me, Jake Tapper does NOT know “plenty of Muslims” and is lying through his teeth when he even mentions that. This pack of hyenas only hang out with those who share their twisted view of what “American values” are. I guarantee you that today’s Muslims to a person reject our belief system, our form of government, our foundation based on personal freedom, and our respect and tolerance for other religions and faiths. If they don’t reject our ideals (and don’t forget that they refer to us and Israel as the “great Satan”), then the Imams impose Islamic sanctions on those miscreants to the Islamic agenda, even to the point of imprisonment, torture, and even beheadings. One doesn’t mess around with Islam, one has to put it down, before IT puts us down.

Tapper comes loaded with bait for any conservatives, as his profile explains: “Jake is a former staffer for Democratic Congressional campaigns and a former employee of the Brady Center for gun control.” Interviewees like Dr. Carson could well take a hint by firing back something like “I understand where you’re coming from” then go on to explain that of the 2.1 billion Muslims extant on the planet, where is there any embracing of western principles of one form or another anywhere in their ideology? Call these progressives out, and stop being “mister nice guy.”

Here’s the five-minute clip, and then on to Carol Brown’s take …

284px-American_Thinker_logoJack Tapper interviewed Ben Carson this weekend.  Carson, who had the patience of a saint, continued to speak the truth about Islam.  But Tapper would have none of it.

At the outset, Carson kept reiterating what he had already stated these past several days because Tapper – who appeared genuinely dumbfounded – kept misrepresenting his words.  Like most members of the media, it appears that Tapper has not educated himself on the Quran, preferring to peddle ideas plucked out of thin air to fit a politically correct narrative.

And so Carson is bucking up against this monstrous wall of ignorance as he continues to speak the truth about Islam, sharia, and our Constitution.  Tapper spent nearly six minutes trying to wrap his brain around Carson’s position while playing the role of master dhimmi.

JT: You don’t think that in any way you said anything that could have been said more clearly about Muslims?

BC: I made it very clear.

JT: Because you seem to be singling out Muslims as individuals who automatically, as a knee jerk, would put their religion ahead of the country and I think that offended a lot of people, including a lot of patriotic Muslims.

BC: I think the statement stands. Is it possible that maybe the media thinks that it’s a bigger deal than the American people do? Because American people — the majority of them — agree with, and they understand exactly what I’m saying.

Yes, Dr. Carson.  Your statement stands, we understand exactly what you’re saying, and we thank you.  (And Jake might want to read the survey from earlier this year that shows that over half of American Muslims want sharia law.)

Tapper trudged on as only a dhimmi can.  He continued to twist Carson’s words, but Carson used each occasion to come back at him from a position of strength.

JT: So you are saying that there is something specific about being a Muslim that you have to reject Islam in order to be a president?

BC: Well you have to reject the tenets of Islam. Yes. You have to.

For those who have been waiting with bated breath for when Tapper would pull out the moral equivalence card, the wait is over.

JT: And that’s different from an Orthodox Jew or a devout Christian…

BC: If there’s a devout Christian who’s running and they [R]efuse to [embrace] the ideals of our Constitution or if they want to establish a theocracy, I cannot advocate for that.

I wished Carson had called Tapper out on his moral equivalence, but it’s easy for me to sit and critique interviews after the fact.  Since part of what Carson has been addressing is the issue of a theocracy, his response had merit, though he missed an opportunity to note that neither Christianity nor Judaism calls for the subjugation of others through tyrannical rule.

In any case, by this point in the interview Tapper appeared absolutely flummoxed.

JT: I guess the point is that you seem to be suggesting that Muslim Americans automatically want a theocracy and I just don’t know any Muslim Americans – and I know plenty – who feel that way even if they are observant Muslims.

Poor little Jake.  He was trying so hard to be Dhimmi of the Day.  But no matter; Carson kept on going and did something I wish other conservatives would do during media interviews, which is to put a question to the “journalist.”

BC: OK. In terms of the tenets of Islam: are you familiar with them?

JT: I’m familiar –

BC: The corpus juris from the authoritative group of people who make the rules that go back to the 10th century AD?

JT: I’m familiar with extremist interpretations of plenty of religions.

I’m calling it: Tapper lied.

But it was the best he could do to save face, making a valiant effort as he pushed the moral equivalence agenda by putting Islam, and jihad, on par with other religions, including “extremist” forms of them.

Nice try, Jake.  But now we’re awake.  And millions of us know that our lives are at stake.

BC: I’m not talking about extremist interpretations. I’m talking about what is required. And you have to make a specific declaration and decision to reject the portions of it.

JT: What portions of it?

BC: The portions that tell you how you treat women. The portions of it that indicate that the kafir, who are the people who are not believers, are subject to different rules; that they can be dominated.

Uh-oh.  Now what, Jake?

Here’s what.  When boxed into a corner due to a mighty dose of the truth, change the subject.

JT: I think that one of things that’s just. You are a member of a church that there’s a lot of misinformation about. The Seventh Day Adventist Church. You’re an African America. You know what it’s like for people to make false assumptions about you and you seem to be doing the same thing with Muslims.

BC: In which way am I making a false assumption about them?

JT: You’re assuming that Muslim Americans put their religion ahead of the country.

BC: I’m assuming that if you accept all the tenets of Islam, that you will have a very difficult time abiding under the Constitution of the United States.

At that point, it looked like someone behind the scenes signaled to Tapper that the interview needed to end.  Tapper shook Carson’s hand, barely eking out: “Thank you Dr. Carson, I appreciate it.”  Despite the cordial words, Tapper’s tone of voice and body language spoke volumes.  In a word: rude.  (Compare, for example, Tapper’s interview this weekend with Pelosi, when Jake did not press her on anything and smiled warmly at the end when he thanked her.)

Many have hailed Jack Tapper as one of the few remaining “fair” journalists.  If he ever was, that’s all in the past.  His interview with Ben Carson proved he is a disgrace.  A dhimmi.  Another leftist tool.

Keep going, Dr. Carson!
