Fair and balanced. Nice idea. Reality suggests that Judge Napolitano understood the roles of modern British and American government: It is better to lie than to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
This age is one of deceit, slander and falsehood. For the most part, those of us in great flyover country are honest, decent, hard-working people. Many attend worship and live by biblical principles. In Washington, London and Whitehall, the code is one of ‘grab and take’ while you can. Nothing short of a legalized criminal cartel under the guise of governing.
Anyone who has known Judge Napolitano for any length of time, and witnessed his polished professionalism on Fox News is well aware of him being a true patriot in every sense of the word; a staunch defender of the U.S. Constitution and the Republic for which it stands. Not only extremely wise and intelligent as an on-air commentator, Napolitano is a gentleman who lent FNC some badly-needed dignity and class. Never pedantic or condescending, he managed to make his points with wit and charm – even in lesser company than his own.
Now it would appear that Napolitano’s real “crime,” as it were, was to tell the unvarnished truth in an age when the media (even so-called “conservative media”) does not care about that precious commodity very much anymore. The big-shots and the powers-that-be have long had it in for guys like Andrew Napolitano anyway – for committing the unpardonable sin of actually believing that the Constitution ‘means what it says, and says what it means’ and then having the temerity to interpret the law accordingly.
As Daniel John Sobieski opens up in his piece in today’s American Digest:
Fox News anchor Bret Baier likes to end his Special Report broadcast with the claim that Fox News is “fair, balanced and unafraid.” Well, Fox News seems not to be fair when it throws contributor Judge Andrew Napolitano under the bus for linking surveillance of Team Trump to Team Obama’s links with British intelligence.
Apparently, Fox News isn’t as “fair and balanced” as it pretends to be. While it endlessly repeats totally unsubstantiated claims of Trump critics of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, as well as repeatedly dismissing Trump claims of Obama administration surveillance of Trump tower, they have dared to take Fox News contributor Judge Napolitano off the air for repeating what three intelligence agents told him — that the Obama administration in fact had British intelligence conduct the surveillance so as not to leave a trail.
Fox News, along with its brethren MSNBC and CNN, apparently has no trouble endlessly repeating reports from unnamed sources of collusion between Team Trump and Russian operatives. Yet it dumped Judge Napolitano for challenging the mantra of the herd that Team Trump is guilty and Obama is innocent.
This is not simply about Judge Napolitano who is surely financially well off and still has a career writing books. It is about the Establishment, the GOP Establishment, that is determined to undermine Donald J. Trump and suppress the Libertarians and Constitutionalists who demand that the fascism in the GOPe is stopped. Napolitano’s report was 100% correct, wherein the tradecraft, here, of the USA’s intelligence community utilizing independent sovereign SIGINT agencies (Signals Intel) such as GCHQ, has been going on for years so as not to violate the requesting sovereign’s own criminal statutes. The UK has The Official Secrets Act wherein, of course, they need and will deny, any and all participation in their facilitation of surveillance upon Trump simply as a matter of their own laws.
Of course, American intelligence agencies, as well as the British, are denying the story. Either Judge Napolitano is doing some sloppy reporting or these agencies are lying. They have lied before, particularly about whether the American people were under surveillance by the NSA.
Trump has been skeptical of the conclusions of Clapper and the intelligence community and rightly so. Are we to believe the likes of James Clapper, who once reassured the Congress that the NSA wasn’t conducting surveillance of the American people?
As U.S. News and World Report noted, his recent resignation didn’t assuage critics who believe that Clapper, like other Obama administration personnel, dodged a perjury bullet when he testified before Congress on the issue of NSA surveillance of American citizens:
Whether it was Fast and Furious, Benghazi, IRS targeting Tea Party groups, NSA wiretapping, political prosecution of Dinesh D’Souza, stand-down orders to ICE enforcement, etc., etc., Obama always had a cut-off guy, someone to take the fall if the crime/dirty deed was exposed. Obama always maintained separation for plausible deniability.
In the case of wiretapping Trump, direct involvement by Brennan or Clapper wouldn’t work. Everyone would recognize that wiretapping the presidential candidate of the opposition party in the run-up to the election was such a big deal that Brennan and Clapper would never do so without direct instructions from Obama himself. Especially so, since the FBI probe according to Comey, had turned up no probable cause, nothing.
Using GCHQ as their cut-out gives Obama, Brennan, and Clapper plausible deniability. It fits the pattern. And certainly they shared their information with Hillary’s campaign. She tweeted about “investigations” before a debate, well before the BigLeftMedia started pushing the story. There is no doubt in my mind at all that Judge Napolitano hit the bulls eye with his truthful allegations.
