In the style of the Monty Python Dead Parrot sketch from way back in the last century, cartoonist Chris Muir channels the demise of the GOP in the guise of said dead parrot. What other means of swift explanation can one realistically fathom from the fall of the mighty? Progressives attempting to sanitize US history and purge from memory anyone who may not have lived up to their current politically-correct standards is more than a little weird when you consider that they are very comfortable with both the historical and current barbaric practices we see in any country in which followers of Islam have a working majority.
Is America for Americans? Or is it for liberal-progressive GOPDemoMarxist reelection? As for history, removing statues of Southern heroes is nothing more than taking an eraser to the “truth of history”, and there are plenty of examples of historical figures, those who aided in crafting this nation, with histories not in jibe with today’s fashions. Heck, MLK said disregard the color of skin, focus on character. Even that doesn’t fly with the liberals of today. Do we take his statues down, rename all the streets and highways??? And ISIS was created and expanded with Hillary and Obama in office – nothing to do with Trump – and everything to do with Islam.
Wisdom and common sense, it would appear, went the way of the dead parrot….
This would have been the epitaph of Common Sense if not for Trump (and our Establishment elites believe more in Common Core than Common Sense).
“Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.”
“He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
– Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
– Why the early bird gets the worm;
– Life isn’t always fair;
– And maybe it was my fault … Common Sense finally gave up the will to live.”
“Common Sense was preceded in death,
– by his parents, Truth and Trust,
– by his wife, Discretion,
– by his daughter, Responsibility,
– by his son, Reason,
– by his grandmother, Sound Judgment
– and by his grandfather, Future Planning.”
“He is survived by his 6 stepbrothers;
– I know my Rights
– I want it Now
– Someone else is to Blame
– I’m Offended
– I’m a Victim
– Pay me for Doing Nothing.”
“Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone…..RIP.”

An excellent piece from today’s American Thinker, by James Longstreet … “Presumed intellect and assumed intelligence draped with flattering ivory tower degrees is not a substitute for the wisdom and common sense required of a president. We need, we demand a candidate with these attributes”.
