Donald J Trump the Obama Legacy

En Garde in the bunker…

Ed Straker gives full vent in today’s American Thinker on Obama’s effort last night to redeem himself from the past eight years’ demolition job on the United States of America. Of course it was all a barrel of lies and true to character of the professional Liar-in-Thief and his angst against Donald Trump; performing it in front of a fawning audience didn’t hurt either.

A sampling:

Obama: [I]f I had told you that we would open up a new chapter with the Cuban people, shut down Iran’s nuclear weapons program without firing a shot, and  .. win marriage equality, and secure the right to health insurance for another 20 million of our fellow citizens – you might have said our sights were set a little too high.

Straker: Islamic nukes, unconstitutional redefinition of marriage, flirting with a Cuban dictatorship, and driving insurance premiums so high that people can’t afford it .. that’s not “setting sights too high”; that’s setting sights on the American people.

Obama: Understand, democracy does not require uniformity[.]

Straker: Except in health care.  And education.  And environmental regulation.  And overtime wage laws.  And putting boys in girls’ bathrooms.

Obama: After my election, there was talk of a post-racial America. Such a vision, however well-intended, was never realistic. For race remains a potent and often divisive force in our society.

Straker: And who has made it more divisive? [end]

Meanwhile, over at FrontPageMagazine, Matthew Vadum was doing his own version, opening up with:

“President Barack Hussein Obama bid farewell last night to the nation he despises in what was, for him, a mercifully brief speech. “America is a better, stronger place than it was when we started,” he said in all apparent seriousness. After sending aid and comfort to an Islamic supremacist dictator in Egypt, he falsely claimed to have pulled the rug out from the Islamic Republic of Iran’s nuclear weapon program. The Nobel Peace Prize winner left out how his illegal war destabilized Libya and the fact that the U.S. military deeply distrusts him.” [end]

Goodbye Obama. Hello Donald. We the People have waited a long time for this, a full eight years that seemed like an eternity. Thanks to guys like Ed and Matthew for doing the job and watching the ‘farewell’ so that we didn’t have to.

Note that considerable parts of his ‘farewell’ speech were constructed around the same kind of Straw man assertions and Lefty narrative assumptions that characterized most of his other speeches. I guess when all you have is a ‘hammer’ and presumably a ‘sickle’ somewhere, each and every problem looks like a ‘nail.’ Even, perhaps, the Donald.

I’ve often had great difficulty watching and listening to this Clown Prince of Fools for eight long ears, always sensing when seeing him at the Presidential teleprompter podium, that I was watching a turtle on a fence post. He just doesn’t belong (and hasn’t, ever) up there, and he definitely didn’t get there because of his ability. He never seems comfortable or what to do when he’s the center of attention, and ofttimes he looks flustered and bewildered when the prompter goes awry. So much for the idiot(s) that put him there in the first place.

Still he is effectively out of office, although his bitter legacy will remain. I have hope that things will now have a better shot at changing for the better. That is the kind of “hope and change” the nation deserves – albeit not the kind Obama had in mind. And especially where the Donald is concerned.

Excellent articles from both writers, even if reading a summary of Obama’s treachery is worse than a ride through a sewer in a glass bottomed boat. At least you only have to do this once.

One can’t end this commentary any better than the last line of Matthew Vadum’s piece, which ran: “After the farewell address on Fox News Channel, Sean Hannity asked radio host Larry Elder what Obama’s legacy would be.

“His legacy is Donald J. Trump,” Elder replied.

Sweet!

This is the shortest clip I could find from last night, and in the 6 minutes, I counted goodness knows how many lies, lies, and fairytales … That, presumably, is why there are only 5 views showing(!)
