‘PM Boris Johnson has made it clear that there will be no re-vote on the UK leaving the EU, that the will of the voters as expressed will be obeyed’
The astute Boris Johnson becoming British PM was basically a re-vote on the UK leaving the EU. Or put another way – The ‘stays’ lost.
Standing firm and tall by his word, Boris is in complete control of Brexit from here on out. Seems like the head of the EU would prefer ‘let’s make a deal’ with Boris, rather than let the Brits off scot-free.
So we wait and see.
For God and country, Britain will rise and snap loose of its bonds and controls. With a little astute help from their friends across the big pond, Britain will be Great again.
While events in Britain proceed along, we should also be mindful today, of the fact that the newly-elected Prime Minister of Australia, Scott Morrison and his wife, Jenny, arrived overnight into DC for a weekend State Visit with lots to cover on their agenda.
Which we’ll get to in a moment, but first, Thomas Lifson, American Thinker, ‘EU hopeful on deal, Johnson firm on Brexit’..
Gone are the hopes of a British cave-in on Brexit. PM Boris Johnson has made it clear that there will be no re-vote on the UK leaving the EU, that the will of the voters as expressed will be obeyed. And for good measure, President Trump has made it clear that the US stands with its mother country and will be open to a free trade pact with Britain post-Brexit.
Faced with this unwavering stance, its pressure ineffective in blocking Brexit, the head of the EU now wants to make a deal. The UK Telegraph reports:
Jean-Claude Juncker has said the EU can agree a new Brexit deal by Oct 31 as it emerged Boris Johnson wants a “take it or leave it” offer from Brussels.
Amid increasing optimism in Downing Street that a deal is within reach, the European Commission president also said he was not “emotionally attached” to the Irish backstop and that it could be ditched.
The Irish backstop refers to the issue of the border between Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic, currently a non-border, with no evidence of a barrier beyond a highway sign. The two economies are now highly integrated, with a constant stream of trucks traveling the superhighway connecting Dublin and Belfast paying no heed to the border.

The Australian visit. Think about the greater picture here, folks. We have an astute president, 2 1/2 years into his first term and he is relentless in pulling together not only his home nation, but those around the globe who see all the positives of a strong relationship with the United States. Do you see the pattern here?
Then there’s first things first!
8:20pm ET THE PRESIDENT and THE FIRST LADY host a state dinner with the Prime Minister of Australia and Mrs. Morrison – Rose Garden
First Lady Melania has chosen to deck the Rose Garden with green and gold, with yellow garden roses, wattle and golden champagne grapes decorating the tables.
Approximately 100 guests will enjoy a menu of sunchoke ravioli, Dover sole with fennel mousseline, and Lady Apple tart was chosen to “pay homage to Australia’s special blend of culinary adaptations from its various cultures, not unlike the diverse food traditions of the United States”, a spokesperson for Mrs Trump said.
♦ 9:40pm ET THE PRESIDENT and THE FIRST LADY participate in entertainment with the Prime Minister of Australia and Mrs. Morrison – Rose Garden
Australia. Like Britain, great ally in two world wars and after. Like many others of my ilk, yours truly has spent a fair amount of time ‘Down Under’ and the people are great. Love to see them honored at the White House as only the Trump administration knows how to do.
No doubt some important policy items to be announced within the next few days from our chief partner in the Indo-Pacific region.
A great pity the DemoMarxists sourpusses sure could learn a lesson or two about manners, comportment, style, entertainment and accomplishment! Unfortunately it’s an astute, acquired taste way beyond the boundaries of the leftists and their ilk.
Nevertheless, on that note, time for today’s MAGA Pill – President Donald J. Trump – MAGA! KAG!
