Trumpit persuasion nets Dr. Carson

En Garde In The Bunker

A friend of mine had the pleasure a while ago, of hearing Dr. Ben Carson speak to a local organization that provides a home for girls who choose to keep their babies, and was in awe of his kindness, intelligence and work ethic. More’s the hope that inner-city kids all across the fruited plain can learn to use him as a role model rather than the likes of Jay Z and other foul-mouthed ingrates. One thing for sure, Dr. Carson is not going to preach a message of dependency, despair and victimhood.

The biggest problems in the black community come from within, not without, and I fully anticipate that the Enemy will divine that Dr. Carson is a terrific threat to the Democrat party’s ownership of dependent blacks, so we can expect their usual assault against all black men, i.e. they will come up with a harem of women to accuse him of infidelity ala Clarence Thomas or Herman Cain. They really are so predictable.

Dr. Ben Carson and a great inner-cities kid’s slogan – Think Big…

It’s possible that with an inspirational leader like Ben Carson, the cultural issues in the black communities will be brought out into the open and just maybe people will begin addressing them at home. He will be vilified in the media of course, but he will have The Trumpit to smack down those voices. Bill Cosby tried this approach of course way back before the left began to smear him, using his status as a beloved black comedian and TV star, but when it appeared he was really reaching people the left had to destroy him.

Wanna have some fun? Listen to this from “acidulous” on one of my threads: “Call Nancy Pelosi’s office and accuse the hag of being a racist. News in NY yesterday was reporting she objects to his nomination. Well. Well. So I picked up the phone and got her stooge on the line and asked if she was a racist. The stooge sputtered and hyperventilated and was gobsmacked. Hey – she’s white, he’s black, she doesn’t want him – that’s classic racism, right? Oh no! That’s not how racism works, he said. Oh yeah? I didn’t like Obama and you leftwads called me a racist and everyone else who voted against Obama a racist, why is it so different for Pelosi? I learned the definition of racism from YOU leftwingers so don’t blame me. I signed off by telling him yes – she is a racist. Hang up followed. It’s time they got sucker-punched right back.”[end]

The greatest compliment Dr. Carson received was when Pelosi said he was “supremely unqualified”. ‘Nuff said, wouldn’t you say?!

Now to Thomas Lifson, founder and Editor-in-Chief, American Thinker…

Newt Gingrich this morning on Fox and Friends gave away the real story behind the announcement today that Dr. Benjamin Carson has been “chosen” (AP’s word) secretary of Housing and Urban Development.  According to Newt, Donald Trump has spent two weeks persuading Carson to take the job.

It’s pretty clear to me that the reality show genius about to be inaugurated as president intends to make good on his promise to America’s inner cities quite visibly.  As a real estate developer, he know which incentives to use to attract investors in the inner cities.  What’s needed is a sense among African-Americans in particular, but also among everyone afflicted with a sense of hopelessness and economic impotence, that a new era has dawned.  New possibilities are opening up.  As Trump proclaimed, “what have you got to lose?”

Now it is Dr. Carson, whose personal story is so inspiring that Cuba Gooding, Jr. portrayed him in a hagiographic biopic, who needs to become the spokesman, the embodiment of the new opportunities America is offering under Trump.  As Scott Adams rightly points out:

Remember what I taught you in the past year: Facts don’t matter. What matters is how you feel. And when you watch Trump and Pence fight and scratch to keep jobs in this country, it changes how you will feel about them for their entire term.

The thing about hope is that, like fear, it can be contagious.

Dr. Carson is just the man for the job, and that’s why Trump never gave up in persuading him to take it.
