Right, left, shake, bake, fakin’ news

Go ahead, make my…

Like many of you, I sometimes have a problem figuring out what the heck ‘right’ and ‘left’ mean in any context anymore. Especially when applied to different levels and content of any currently-designated news orgs.

From my perspective, ‘left’ is and always has been, fake news, while on the other hand, ‘right’ has always represented ‘real’ news.

Listening to, or watching the Clinton News Network (CNN), or MessNBC (ie MicroSoftNBC from the 1996 merger) I have absolutely no idea where reality is. Ergo from PBS; NPR; ABC; CBS; NBC plus any and all news rag papers still extant.

On the other hand, tuning in to the likes of OAN or Fox, or hunting down the gems of truth and reality in investigative reportage emanating from the online media, We the People generally have a pretty good idea of what is true or not. The question really boils down to whether the left really lives in an altered state of reality, or whether they simply use news outlets to push their view of what they imagine reality to be.

Hence the emergence of the Big Deep State Fake News conglomerates.

Beginning sometime in, oh, let’s say 1992-ish (others might argue much earlier than that from VietNam days and the ‘Cronkite BS’ network, which led up to 1992) the left began elevating the ‘feel-good’ facts about liberals while dumping the ‘bad’; at the same time reversing the order in pushing only the ‘bad’ facts involving conservatives but never the ‘good’.

These days, the left seldom lies, they just never tell the truth; the whole, objective truth, that is. It (the left) has morphed into a great propaganda tool and works wonderfully well, having kept the DemoMarxists alive and breathing for decades. And don’t forget, it got Obama elected twice, when truly objective, deep investigative journalist-reportage would’ve doomed him from the start. What the left has become, is nothing more than a censorship tool.

Courtesy of Sharyl Attkisson (a true investigative journalist if ever there was one) we finally have a readable chart within which we can observe the pigeon-holes of right, left, shake, bake, fakin’ news and their acolytes.

As Sharyl explains it:

I’ve updated the following subjective chart based on information compiled from various sources and your feedback. Some sources have shifted left or right, others have been added including: ESPN, McClatchy, the Federalist, Conservative Review, Washington Monthly, Twitchy, Gateway Pundit and Conservative Treehouse.

Please note that outlets on left and right sometimes publish material that’s on the opposite side of the political spectrum, or that has no political leaning at all. The placement is based on perceived overall tone and audience. Position on the chart doesn’t necessarily imply credibility or lack thereof. Sources on far right and far left have, in many instances, produced excellent, factually correct information at times.

I have loosely placed more traditional information sources in the top half of the chart working down toward aggregators, fact-checkers, opinion sites and less news-related sources. (This posed some position challenges since most of traditional information sources are left-leaning.) I did not attempt to place individual programs or broadcasts.

Compiling such a chart is obviously difficult for many reasons, some of them having to do with space. The spacing should be considered relative and not an indicator of absolute position. A number of the information sources technically belong on top of one another.

You have contributed terrific ideas, such as sizing boxes based on audience, and dividing into quadrants. This is a work in progress. Thanks for your input!

Sharyl Attkisson investigative journalist par excellence…

Methinks one could suppose that Sharyl was being somewhat kind to MSNBC, The Nation, and the Nationalist People’s Radio (NPR). Had they been placed any further left in their true position they’d have fallen off the page.

Plus, I could also opine that Hot Air, Drudge Report, The Hill, Britain’s Daily Mail Online and a couple or more, should all be further to the left, since their political positions definitely seem to have shifted more leftist within the past year.

Excellent to see my favorite Conservative Treehouse included (far right bottom, third up from Red State), along with others that I steal from regularly (with full attribution of course!). All for the edification of you, my erudite readers.

And as ever, kudos to our warrior-president, reviled, ridiculed, blasphemed and badgered by the most debased and cantankerous of evil enemies – all from within – while re-establishing the tenets of faith, purpose, optimism, willingness and pride in the greatest Constitutional Republic ever conceived on planet earth.

‘When in the Course of Human events it becomes necessary … to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them… We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility … do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America…’

President Donald J. Trump. MAGA!
