Go Ahead, Make …
Musing miles away from Ferguson. Very interesting choice of topic I have for you here, considering the current political climate, but anything to get away from the Ferguson Fiasco. As interesting and enjoyable as always, Bill Whittle opines and illustrates for us on this latest Firewall, the inherent dangers in the development of “those wonderful men and their flying machines”, most particularly, those that are designed specifically for space travel. Test pilot is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world, especially when dealing with speeds and forces where there isn’t much room for error. Anything not predicted is learned catastrophically, which is exactly what happened in the Mojave Desert a few weeks ago with the Branson space program.

There is a demon up there, in the skies. It’s not the aerodynamic shock waves that locked elevators and likely deployed the unlocked feathering mechanism on SpaceShipTwo. It’s not re-entry heat. The demon is not even gravity.
The demon in the air is us. It’s lemurs and monkeys trying to fly faster than a rifle bullet and climb out of the air entire and see the world from the weightlessness of by-God outer space just because we want to and just because we can. But we carry with us the demons of psychology of microseconds and mach numbers and thrust chamber PSIs. We weren’t made to do this. We have to learn how.
It sounds simple – tragically simple. But it’s just one more thing we did not know before that flight, and now we do know. We won’t make that mistake again. We can go ahead and make new mistakes now, and those will kill and injure test pilots, and destroy vehicles as well. Test flying is not just to work out the bugs in the hardware. It’s to work out the bugs in our heads. We don’t know what we don’t know. We have to go up there and find out.
And still musing miles away from Ferguson. And a quick change of pace and up pops Andrew Klavan with his latest Revolting Truth, this time on how the lamestreams covered the DemoMarxist shellacking of three weeks ago. An excellent job of calling out liberal media hypocrisy, and really demonstrating for the likes of Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert for instance, that Klavan really is very funny as well as being greatly informative. Stewart particularly, could learn a lot from this delivery … !!

And while Republicans did crush the Democrats… and did see them driven before them while hearing the lamentations of their women, Ben Smith of the mainstream website Buzzfeed said the elections meant surprisingly little, while Chris Cillizza at the still mainstream Washington Post called the elections “boring, vapid and inconsequential.” Chris Matthews made the following face.
So there you have it: according to the mainstream media, the midterms were elections about nothing that shouldn’t have been allowed and didn’t really happen but if they did they didn’t matter and Republicans lost them even if they won.
Now some of you may say this sort of election analysis only proves that so-called mainstream journalists are really just a bunch of ideologically corrupt leftist shills seeking to twist the facts to advance an extremist agenda that’s completely out of keeping with the founding principles of the United States.
