Meanwhile over the past weekend…

En Garde in the bunker…

Part One: Now this is rich. I mean REAL rich – Subjectively and figuratively! Hard to imagine that Vermont was once so conservatively-Republican that it never went for Roosevelt even once. Of course that all started to change in the 1960s with the rich liberals taking advantage of then cheap land and the new interstate highways which made Vermont an easy drive from metropolitan areas. They discovered that they could be very big fish in a little pond.

Bernie Sanders was one who came in with that wave, and yet had the effrontery to come out this past Saturday to tweet: “We are living in a nation which worships wealth rather than caring for the poor. I don’t think that is the nation we should be living in.”

Says the man who owns three homes, one of which is the $600,000-dollar vacation home he presumably bought with Hillary’s pay-off cash to get him out of the race last year. Sometimes, you must bow to the absurd. But the absurdity of Sanders claiming we worship wealth while he lives like a king was just too good a target to pass up.

And liberals complain about Trump’s denial of reality?

Bonus Play: Nobody around in DemoMarxist Land more looney-tune than the Minority Leader of the House…

Part Two: Meanwhile, we move on to the ultra-non-entrepreneur, one Chelsea Clinton, who this past weekend, attempted to convincingly assure any and everyone who would listen that the Ruling Class certainly looks after its own, even when they have nothing more to offer in the employment skills department, than a well-connected name. As Richard Morgan put it in the New York Post:

Mama Hillary Clinton didn’t make it to the White House, and hubby Marc Mezvinsky has just shuttered his hedge fund. What’s a girl to do? Expedia answered that question for Chelsea Clinton Friday by appointing her to its board. The online travel giant had to increase the number of its directors from 13 to 14 in order to accommodate Clinton, according to securities filings. But with 54 percent of its voting shares, Expedia’s chairman — billionaire Barry Diller — has the clout to do it.

Thomas Lifson in American Thinker goes on to remind us that Diller has already provided Chelsea with another board gig, simply reprising the role he played in appointing her to the board of IAC Interactive four years ago, where he was and still is chairman. That first board seat generated “$299,936 compensation — $50,000 cash and $249,936 in stock”  — which is a substantial multiple of the yearly household income in the United States.  On top of that, Chelsea now will nearly double that, receiving from Diller’s other board: “$295,000, consisting of a $45,000 cash retainer and $250,000 in trade-restricted stock.”

Just under 600 grand puts Chelsea and husband Mark in the top one percent. All for a few meetings a year and (maybe) a little prep time. Meanwhile the board has managed all along to do without Chelsea’s insights (based on what? Her rides on Air Force One?), so I doubt very much if she will be cranking out spreadsheets analyzing the proposed budgets from management. Does she even know how to make a spreadsheet?

What will Elizabeth Warren say about this one-percenter deal? (Trick question: absolutely nothing.)

Part Three: But wait, the mother of Chelsea who refuses to go away, then comes out with outrageous unpalatable claims that the nation is in turmoil and she is very concerned over the divisiveness of the people.

From Silvio Canto, Jr:

She told the Society of Irish women yesterday: “What can we do to try to bring people together and to try to find that common ground, even higher ground, sister, so that we listen to each other again and we know that we can make a difference?

The former First Lady went on to urge the “divided country” to work together to solve problems, recalling how, as first lady, she met with female leaders working to bring peace to Northern Ireland.

Ms Clinton added: “I am ready to come out of the woods and to help shine a light on what is already happening around kitchen tables, at dinners like this, to help draw strength that will enable everybody to keep going.”

Canto goes on: On behalf of the “deplorable,” let me scream across the land: are you kidding, Mrs. Clinton?  Did you just realize that the country is divided? The nation has been divided for a long time, and your side did a lot to make it so.

Meanwhile in September 2012, then-secretary of state Clinton insulted the intelligence of most Americans by participating in a scam calling the attack on the Benghazi diplomatic post a reaction to a YouTube video.  We know now that the explanation was a lie, but don’t expect the lady to say she is sorry.

Last year, Mrs. Clinton, now a candidate for president, referred to half of Trump supporters as “deplorable.”  Isn’t that a neat way of uniting the country?  She regretted the remark later but the damage was done.

Bonus Play Two: ‘The Donald Trump never paid taxes’ routine. Wait ’til you hear/see this! Do you think these narcissistic wise guys ever stop to think how idiotic they look consistently wiping egg off their faces? Albert Einstein warned them that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again yet coming up with the same results. Bingo!

In retrospect, don’t worry, Donna Brazile has it all configured in the latest Democrat apology tour, which Thomas Lifson describes most eloquently:

I give Donna Brazile just a few points for finally fessing up (after lying and denying) that she stole and supplied CNN debate questions to Hillary Clinton, helping the establishment candidate triumph over insurgent Bernie Sanders.  But I have to deduct even more points, because she did so in a context of blaming the Russians and partially exonerating herself. The expression “non-denial denial” has a cognate in her non-apology apology.

In an essay in Time, after fulminating against the Russians for allegedly hacking the DNC emails  (an assertion whose evidence has never been provided, and denied by Wikileaks), she admits:

In October, a subsequent release of emails revealed that among the many things I did in my role as a Democratic operative and D.N.C. Vice Chair prior to assuming the interim D.N.C. Chair position was to share potential town hall topics with the Clinton campaign. I had been working behind the scenes to add more town hall events and debates to the primary calendar, and I helped ensure those events included diverse moderators and addressed topics vital to minority communities. My job was to make all our Democratic candidates look good, and I worked closely with both campaigns to make that happen. But sending those emails was a mistake I will forever regret.

Bonus Play Three: Brazile is a liar and cheater who evades responsibility for her own admitted misdeeds.  Anyone who employs her knows this, and is responsible for her future misdeeds either on air or in their party. The afore-mentioned Hillary Clinton from up above, who accepted those questions, is also a liar and a cheat. DemoMarxists don’t even have the morals of an alley cat.

So folks, you “deplorable conservatives” out there, guess what happened over the weekend…
