Full disclosure upfront – let me state that Victor Davis Hanson is one of the best (if not THE best) minds out there in terms of giving historical texture and perspective to our political times and seasons. Even back during my writing of America on the Cusp of God’s Grace in 2010, I had a chapter on the commentary influence of VDH regarding the political sway of America, so I have been a fan of his for a long time.
Jumping into today’s fray, Mark Levin, as I recall, was hardly on the Trump train in the beginning, but he has been a very important supporter of the President since his election victory.
In case you missed it, his ‘Life, Liberty & Levin’ last night was right at the top of television news, commentary, and opinion at its very best. Levin (‘Old Yeller’ on radio) is a superb interviewer who is not there to do the talking, but more the listening and approbation (oh that Hannity, Ingraham and others would just learn to interview and shut up!)
People of Hanson’s integrity and intellectual prowess are becoming scarce in academia. As most of us understand, the majority of colleges and universities are horribly corrupted with liberal DemoMarxist overkill, having lost sight and even the basic understanding, of the mission of the liberal arts.
But not with these two intellectual giants; full show from last night…
‘Republicans’ as established (ie RINO GOPe) could become the party of the vast but vanishing middle class, except it would appear, the elites in Congress don’t want that.
Note to self – Lindsey Graham only became angry when the left went after another DC elite. If you watch closely, that’s how it works with them. They don’t care about the vanishing middle class unless it’s election time. That’s why when people get stuck on Trump being rude or vulgar, who cares? The middle class has been vanishing for years and years, while the leftist DemoMarxists have come to exist on blatantly stealing elections.
According to Hillary Rob’em, Trump was elected by a bunch of fed-up mid-country basket of deplorables – the racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic, you name it, everything’s a phobia, with people like that clinging to their guns, bibles, and religion.
Unfortunately, it’s because there seems to be no solution. Our quiver is full but the flood gates are open and we are being attacked from all directions. Only so many arrows, etc etc.
Being Sunday, somebody reminded me yesterday that there is a reason the USA isn’t mentioned in prophecy. Our fight continues but human nature and sin have already written the end to this story. Doesn’t mean we stop fighting, which is in our very nature, to fight, but in general, it’s how it all plays out in the end.
The majority want to be controlled rather than be in control. All the rest of us can do is to slow and manage the decline.
