Government As The Enemy : The Noose Of Tyranny

Go Ahead, Make ...

Go Ahead, Make …

Government as the enemy is not a new cry by any means, but supposing that there’s more to this than meets the eye, it nevertheless gives me a queasy feeling in my lower abdomen when I see what is transpiring within and throughout my adopted country. Two pertinent quotes come to mind, one from within, the other from without. First the “within” quote:

Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs, and hugging the delusive phantom of Hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot? .. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us.  The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave .. I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death!

And the “without” warning: The thought police would get him just the same. He had committed – would have committed, even if he had never set pen to paper – the essential crime that contained all others in itself. Thoughtcrime, they called it. Thoughtcrime was not a thing that could be concealed forever. You might dodge successfully for a while, even for years, but sooner or later they were bound to get you. ~ George Orwell, 1984

Government as the enemy was the underlying reason for the statements “When in the Course of human Events, it becomes necessary…” and “We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union…” and when tyrannical behavior takes hold, the likes of what WE THE PEOPLE are witnessing in Harry Reid’s backyard, it behooves a reaction no more revolutionary than that proposed from the quotes above. To whit (to Gov Sandoval’s credit):

Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval (R.) has voiced his concern about so-called “First Amendment Areas,” designated locations set up by the Bureau of Land Management where citizens can protest the removal {of their freedom}. “Most disturbing to me is the BLM’s establishment of a ‘First Amendment Area’ that tramples upon Nevadans’ fundamental rights under the U.S. Constitution,” he said in a statement Tuesday.

“To that end, I have advised the BLM that such conduct is offensive to me and countless others and that the ‘First Amendment Area’ should be dismantled immediately,” he said.  “No cow justifies the atmosphere of intimidation which currently exists nor the limitation of constitutional rights that are sacred to all Nevadans.  The BLM needs to reconsider its approach to this matter and act accordingly.”

Sandoval also said his office has received numerous complaints about the BLM’s conduct, including road closures and “other disturbances.”

One could argue vociferously of course, using Amendments One, Four, and countless others. But why don’t WE THE PEOPLE uphold the entire Constitution and tell the government to BUG OUT and take their toys of war and use them on securing our very porous borders? Perhaps – just perhaps – they could put these warrior-troops to good use in enforcing our immigration laws… Government as the enemy. PERIOD.

Elizabeth Harrington walks us through it in The Washington Free Beacon…

Bundy ranch surrounded...

Bundy ranch surrounded…

A two-decades-old battle between a Nevada rancher and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has resulted in officials armed with machine guns surrounding the ranch and forcibly removing the owner’s cattle, according to the rancher’s family.

Cliven Bundy, the last rancher in Clark County, Nev., has been fighting a “one-man range war” since 1993, when he decided to take a stand against the agency, refusing to pay fees for the right to graze on a ranch run by his family for centuries.

After years of court battles, the BLM secured a federal court order to have Bundy’s “trespass cattle” forcibly removed with heavy artillery, the family said.

“The battle’s been going on for 20 years,” Bundy told theWashington Free Beacon. “What’s happened the last two weeks, the United States government, the bureaus are getting this army together and they’re going to get their job done and they’re going to prove two things. They’re going to prove they can do it, and they’re gonna prove that they have unlimited power, and that they control the policing power over this public land. That’s what they’re trying to prove.”

Bundy said the government has brought everything but tanks and rocket launchers.

The tyranny continues…
