Ex-presidents, Trump and Froglegs

Go ahead, make my…

In case you missed it over the weekend, the Loonie Left went absolutely Gaga – full Lady Gaga as a matter of fact – over the five surviving ex-presidents who showed up for a fundraising event for the regions and countries damaged by the recent spate of hurricanes.

Like the Five Pillars of Islam, these five have collectively brought the power and presence of the United States down to the level of pot-smoking third world countries, so no surprise that they all seem to be plotting on the demise of We the People’s champion currently occupying the White House.

As to their fund-raising acumen I’m shocked – SHOCKED I tell you! – that Hill and Billary don’t just cough up the millions they pocketed from places like Haiti and Puerto Rico that they’ve carpet-bagged in the past and hidden somewhere where nobody can find it. Perhaps they shared it with the Bushes – after all, Bubba is Barbara’s ‘adopted son’, so I’m guessing the Bush boys are blessed with an adopted brother. [sarc]

As to pitting one generation against another, former President Jimmy Carter is vying to retain the title of our worst and most pestiferous former president against the overwhelming challenge coming from Obama.

Mr. Carter’s latest attempt to keep his title was in an op-ed in the Nov. 28 2016 New York Times. There, he argued that President Obama should, in his final days in office, recognize a Palestinian state as a legitimate nation and require Israel to return to its borders as they existed before the 1967 Arab-Israeli war. {Continue reading at Competing for the worst former president}

One of the benefits of being 93 is you don’t have to hold back anymore – you can say what you want. And in a new biography, former President George H.W. Bush tells Jon Meacham just what he thinks about Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld’s work in his son’s administration, as reported by Fox News and The New York Times.

“He just became very hard-line and very different from the Dick Cheney I knew and worked with,” the elder Bush said of the man who served as his secretary of defense. “Just iron-ass. His seeming knuckling under to the real hard-charging guys who want to fight about everything, use force to get our way in the Middle East.” He said Cheney built “his own empire.” {Read to completion – George H. For more than a year before Hillary Clinton launched her latest presidential campaign, ex-presidents club member Bill Clinton had been selectively telling media outlets that he made some mistakes as president and might have acted otherwise. He’s even tried to recast actual events and been taken to task by fact-checkers who recall his leading role in what became major crises, such as the 2008 global financial implosion.

Lady Gaga and five former presidents…

What follows are 15 ways Bill Clinton’s presidency did not serve America or the world, and in many ways deepened and perpetuated the problems we face today. This article was prepared by AlterNet staff members Janet Allon, Michael Arria, Jan Frel, Tana Ganeva, Kali Holloway, Zaid Jilani, Adam Johnson, Steven Rosenfeld, Phillip Smith, Terrell Jermaine Starr and Carrie Weissman. {Read to completion – 15 Ways Bill Clinton’s White House Failed America and the World}

I wish the entire Bush family well and am pleased that the ex-presidents are sharing the opening of the Bush presidential library. But, as I wrote in my last column for The Hill calling for confirmation of all judicial nominations, it was President George W. Bush and Karl Rove who have corrupted American justice more than any president since Richard Nixon. The Bush presidency was a disastrous presidency that caused a range of catastrophes, including the Iraq war, the budget deficit and the financial crash.

The trouble began when Bush was warned in an intelligence briefing about the threat of terrorists flying planes into buildings in New York and treated those warnings with contempt. Bush did receive those warnings. He did treat them with contempt. He did not take action that was called for. The rest is history. Perhaps Republicans obsessed with Benghazi might convene hearings about this. {Read to completion – George W. Bush: A disastrous president}

Obama’s quantitative squeezing. By every measure imaginable, the rogue fraud “president” (one of the ex-presidents now) Obama has been a complete and utter failure; so bad, that it is nearly impossible to find anything good that has been accomplished during his time in office.

The Economy? Check the article coming up from Chad Stafko in today’s American Thinker, which puts a nail through that idea.

Race relations? Worse than ever and now it appears that we are headed for a race war.

Job creation? The recovery from the 2009 crash has barely created enough jobs to get back to where we started from in the crash. Despite population growth, work force participation rate is at a 50-year low, and those jobs that have been created are overwhelmingly part time and low paying positions. {Read to completion – Here’s me opining from the distant past of Jan 2015 (and it never changed – actually worsened – until he was ousted on November 9, 2016}

Needless to say, there has been a great infusion into the future prospects of the United States by the election of We the People’s favorite candidate Donald J. Trump and it is no surprise that despite all the efforts of those opposed to him, he is well on his way to Make America Great Again. It doesn’t help of course, to witness those ex-presidents doing all they can to diminish and demean the effort he’s putting forward. Nevertheless he is the peoples’ champion and he will remain until the end!

The other more compelling action that took place over the weekend, was the latest Intellectual Froglegs edition, and based upon my above commentaries, you will not be disappointed. So much to express, so little the space ..

“Liberals suck the fun out of everything … They want to normalize the abnormal and  demonize the traditional.”
