Full disclosure here, I’ve never in my life been a proponent of a “sport” that requires two men (and these days now, women) to pummel the absolute hell out of each other to the head until one is knocked unconscious (broken nose, cauliflower ears or no) or there’s enough blood flowing that they could fill a transfusion pack with it. That having been said, the great irony of Cassius Clay’s life was that he adopted a name change as part of an ideology that captured and enslaved more black Africans over longer periods of time than whites, while decrying the ‘racism’ of whites. After all, they have been the only cultural group throughout history ever to have outlawed slavery, and were the first to head to Jerusalem to retake the Holy Land from the Islamic Jihadist Muslim marauders back in the period between 1095 and 1291 AD (known as The Crusades). Indeed, let us never forget that Islam is the one major religious culture that still practices slavery, bride sales, indentured servitude, beheadings, “honor killings” and many other practices encapsulated in polite euphemisms like “human trafficking.” We the infidels and “dhimmi’s” (ie non-Muslims) are given three choices from the nation of Islam when they come a’conquering:

Convert to Islam.
If no conversion, pay the dhimma tax (servitude).
If no 1 or 2 it’s the beheading ditch or roasting spit, or the tossing off from rather tall buildings.

I’ve always wondered why the “$hakedown $harlatan Traveling Circus” (Sharpton, Jackson, Wright, the entire Congressional Black Caucus, the NAACP, etc etc) have never protested Farrakhan’s Islam Sham and the slavery still going on over in Muslim-dominated Africa and middle-eastern countries. Are they cowards or simply hypocritical racists of another color? The current genocidal slaughter of Christian innocents with husbands / fathers being brutally murdered, their wives, sons, and daughters being hauled off into the sex trade surely demands a response from those adherents to the “religion of peace” does it not?

As much as we whiteys are being bombarded daily as racists or Islamophobes from the White House on down through the black political plantation run by the “$hakedown $harlatans”, shouldn’t we be allowed our own version of “black Christian lives matter” to be pursued with the same intensity as “black lives matter” … mmmm? Getting beyond the obvious skills of pugilistic excellence being bestowed upon Cassius Clay, I believe it was a sad day when he took his rightfully given name which his father and grandfather had before him, and threw it away for a name glorifying the founder of the most hideous ideology ever to grace planet earth. His Wikipedia bio explains: “Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr. was born on January 17, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky. He was named for his father, Cassius Marcellus Clay Sr., who himself was named in honor of the 19th-century Republican politician and staunch abolitionist, Cassius Marcellus Clay, also from the state of Kentucky. Clay’s father’s paternal grandparents were John Clay and Sallie Anne Clay. Although Cassius Sr. was a Methodist, he allowed Odessa to bring up both Cassius and his younger brother Rudolph “Rudy” Clay (later renamed Rahman Ali) as Baptists”.

One other thing about Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr., and his so-called conversion to Islam. Why weren’t his daughters and other family members wearing the hijab the other day when they were extensively interviewed by all and sundry, or didn’t they embrace his ideology? And why wasn’t he given the usual Islamic burial on the same day he died? After all that is what the ideology calls for, at the latest if not on the day of death, then by nightfall of the next day. More sad evidence unfortunately, that Cassius Clay transformed from celebrity to Muhammad Ali the commodity, a conundrum that happens to a lot of famous people. Now in death, Obama the Clown Prince of Fools and the Clinton Crime Machine will plow him under, one last time.

The final farewell …

As G. Murphy Donovan describes in his closing on the piece coming up: “Maybe it’s a fitting coda to a checkered career that, on Friday, Ali will be eulogized by Bill Clinton, hustler extraordinaire … Clinton will surely use the occasion for his own purposes; shill for his wife, pander to Islam, and play the partisan political hack, in short, a political huckster will be giving a sports huckster a proper sendoff … Muhammad Ali will be used this week yet again in death, used by an outsized media orgy before they put him in the ground, ignoring the positive role model he never became. Or as Whittier lamented “For all words from mouth or pen, the saddest are these: “It might have been.” There will be no joy, poetry, justice, or truth in Louisville this week.”

The eternal question will remain, did Cassius Marcellus Clay KO Muhammad Ali through his use of “al taqiyya” and thereby stay true to his own original Christian faith? Only the heavenlies know.

I would have never thought to put Muhammad Ali (aka Cassius Clay) and Donald Trump in the same sentence, no less the same argument. Nonetheless, the other day, ABC did it for me. When Ali died, Donald Trump had some very gracious remarks about the boxer’s passing. Michael Falcone at ABC used the occasion to trot out some written remarks attributed to Ali that Falcone interpreted to be a defense of Islam against Trump. Trump, of course, is never mentioned in the Ali communiqué on Islam. Indeed, the suggestion that Muhammad Ali was writing about anything on his deathbed is an unlikely fantasy.

Ali was probably being used then as he has been used for most of his career; first by fight hucksters, then by anti-war activists, then by a Nation of Islam cult, and finally by any special pleader that could get him to sit and sell his persona or signature for a $100 dollars a pop.

Still the big networks never seem to miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity. Alas, exploiting a palooka’s death to bash a political candidate already under fire is what you might expect from press partisans in an election year.

You read that correctly. I said “palooka,” archaic sports jargon used to describe a chump who has one too many fights and taken one too many shots to the head.

In another time and place, such a prizefighter would have had an industry diagnosis such as “punch drunk,” not Parkinson’s. This is not to blame Ali; he like many athletes probably wasn’t smart enough to anticipate the consequences of not knowing when to quit. Smart athletes don’t quit while they’re ahead; they quit while they still have a head. Rocky Marciano might be the best example among truly great modern heavyweights.
