The “Free Press” exists today and is under attack by Big Media because of the 1st Amendment, the intent of which was to allow a free press to inform voters in facilitating their judgement on election day. Unfortunately it now protects blatant and intentional Big Media propaganda in the areas of economics, race, government (spending, and the rest) and social issues, doing so by focusing on a particular topic, editing of that topic or refusing to cover it at all. A Press subservient to one Big Media political party’s perspective and narrative instead of facts for voters to use at election time is not a free press at all; it is subservient to Government by Liberals under Liberalism.
The term “Free Press” up until this present time, has always meant a press not under the Big Media government thumb. Equally as bad (and probably worse) however is a press which is not under government control but which is controlled by subversive liars – which is exactly what we now have. The only good thing about the free mainstream Big Media press today is that its bias, hatred and lies are so blatantly obvious that it has largely disqualified itself in the minds of most Americans.
People recognize CNN and the rest of the dinosaur Big Media exactly for what they are – rabid leftists with an agenda of sedition. How many of you like me have had medical appointments at large hospital-based teaching institutions where all the TVs in the waiting areas are tuned in to CNN? What are all the TVs at most airports generally tuned in to? CNN. And most government facilities? CNN or MSNBC.
So not only is the news selected (“faked”, in other words) by Big Media but the selected news is purposeful and gets wide attention in public waiting areas. This is nothing less than political indoctrination.

Brian Karem Playboy Magazine… Porn magazine takes on mainstream political news
The media finally found its hero.
The hero was Brian Karem, the sweaty, surly and unshaven correspondent for Playboy, who whined that Sarah Huckabee-Sanders, the Deputy White House Press Secretary, was “bullying” the abused media.
Vox dubbed Karem “heroic” for defending “CNN’s honor.” The media’s “honor” has fallen so low that it needs defending by the red light district. If the media’s honor gets any lower, its honor will need an assist from the Mafia, Mexican drug cartels, NAMBLA and the Toxic Waste Association of America.
Karem claimed to be inspired by the tantrums of CNN’s Jim Acosta. CNN was particularly upset by the White House denying the network the precious video that it needs to show off its latest Trump attacks.
Under the illiterate headline, “We Stood Up to the Administration Today Because Free Press is Crucial,” Karem wrote at Playboy, “The administration supports the First Amendment – just not the people who practice it.”
And the only people entitled to practice the First Amendment, according to the media, own the media. They don’t need to know basic grammar. They don’t need to have their facts right. They just need to be part of huge media conglomerates with left-wing politics whose mission is attacking conservatives.
What got Karem’s goat (and the goats of the rest of the media herd) was that Sanders had given the first question to Breitbart. And conservative sites are not entitled to the protections of the First Amendment.
A free press is crucial. And when the White House fights for a free press by diversifying the press corps, it’s upholding the spirit of a free press that the media cartel is fighting to kill. The entire “Fake News” outcry that Karem and the rest of his “honorable” colleagues in the media are whining about began with a media plot to censor conservative sites on social media for “Fake News.”
Why does the media believe that Playboy, but not Breitbart or the Daily Caller, have a right to be heard?
“I don’t like the entire institution of the press and free speech being castigated,” Brian Karem wheedled. “The foundation of a free republic is a free press.”
The media has reached rock bottom when a porn magazine’s correspondent starts claiming to be foundation of a free republic.

This is nothing new. As an example, the following remarks were made by the preeminent New York journalist at the time, John Swinton in 1880. Swinton was the guest of honor at a banquet given him by the leaders of his craft, and someone who knew neither the press nor Swinton offered a toast to the “independent press”. Swinton, outraged, responded with the following:
“There is no such a thing in America as an independent press, unless it is out in country towns. You are all slaves. You know it, and I know it. There is not one of you who dares to express an honest opinion. If you expressed it, you would know beforehand that it would never appear in print.”

Americans don’t need just a free press; they need access to accurate information in order to make up their own minds about what they want the government to do. While it’s true that a free press is a prerequisite for the people to have access to the data they need, it’s not sufficient.
We currently, despite Democrat attempts to the contrary, have a free press in America. Yet the systemic left-wing bias of the mainstream media (MSM) – ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, NYT, Washington Post, L.A. Times, etc – means there is little difference between the accuracy of the information most Americans receive and the accuracy of the information people living in Communist China receive.
In both cases, highly skilled propagandists shape, through omission and commission, the news in order to create a false reality the ruling class uses to motivate people to go against what is in the people’s best interest and instead support policies that benefit the ruling elites. Many Americans believe, because of the Fake News generated by the MSM, lots of things that aren’t true, including:
Mankind is causing the Earth to warm in catastrophic ways. Real science says that at worst, it’s unclear, and at best, there’s no catastrophe at all.
- Twenty-five percent of the population harbors sexual attractions exclusively to members of the same sex. The real number is more like 1-2%.
- Trump colluded with Russia to steal the election. No evidence has been found after months of investigations and illegal leaks.
- Republicans are racists. It’s Democrats who oppose school choice for blacks, who don’t care that black women are five times as likely to abort their babies as white women, who bring in cheap foreign labor while black unemployment is twice white unemployment, and who don’t care about thousands of blacks being shot in our inner cities each year.
- The unborn aren’t human. Science says an unborn child is human from the moment of conception.
- Planned Parenthood provides women’s health care. Baby part-selling PP really provides only contraception and abortion.
- What liberal-driven discussion about a “free” press ignores is that to be useful to the American people, the press needs to be not just free, but also honest.
